Explantion
The Atlanta Hawks are in Trouble. Their "Little" Expirement has Failed Horribly. After managing to trade for Dejounte Murray former All Star player for only 3 frps which was considered a Steal at the time the Atlanta Hawks have not grown as a team infact they have gotten worse. In 2020-21 they where the 5th seed. After bringing in Dejounte they have fallen to the tenth seed. Around the Deadline they had Officaly made Dejounte avaliable, but were disappointed when the only offers they recieved where salary filler and 2 frps. In my trade proposal they are getting a rare stretch big (Jonas Valanciunas) to play alongside Onyeka and another stretch big to help off the bench (Larry Nance Jr.) The Reason that Dejounte didnt not work with Trae was that the had played him at the Shooting Guard Postion. This was a huge mistake and ruined everything for them. As we've seen Dejounte strives at the Point Guard postion when Trae was out. Infact Dejounte Murray averaged 25.1 points, 9.1 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 28 games for the Hawks without Trae Young this season. Believe it or not this is extremly similar to Trae stats (Trae Young averaged 25.7 points, 10.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 54 games this season.) but the Diffrence is that Dejounte is an all defensive calliber player. To replace Dejounte they bring in a player who can play shooting guard and who has possibly more defensive upside than Dejounte himself. They recieve Dyson Daniels. Dyson Daniels is your classic three and D shooting guard with tremndous upside. As the 8th pick in the 2022 draft Dyson Daniels is still on his rookie scale contract earning 20 Million less than Dejounte. This would mean that the Hawks would clear 12 Million in salary. The new CBA rules are the biggest threat to super teams and many are rumored to blow it up to avoid the penalities. By doing this the Atlanta Hawks stay far far away from it. This trade works in 2 magical ways for the Hawks. They could either keep Trae or Trade him. They manage to get a good supporting cast plus draft capital, but if Trae is unhappy they could send him to another team (like sas) for even more picks and young players.
Explanation 2
The New Orleans Pelicans are about to get swept by OKC and drastic changes need to be made. Zion has had injury concerns in the past and to be completely honest, its not getting better. Without Zion the Pelicans roster is not reliable and is inconsistent. Infact The New Orleans Pelicans have an 89-117 record without Zion Williamson all-time. He is crucial to that team and they need to build around him. By trading for Dejounte not only are they getting one of the most consistent players in the league but they are getting an All Star Point GOD who has average nearly 10 assists. Cj can no longer be trusted to be their point guard. In the most important games of their season without Zion he is averaging 15 points from 35% from the field. Im not trying to discredit anybody but come on. With your Generational player out injured you need to step up. As the veteran player of your team your fans, organization and teammates need you to step up and frankly you have not done that one bit. As much as I love the fact the okc are proving everybody wrong by getting the clean sweep it hasnt been much of a intresting series. Bringing in Dejounte they guraantee themselves a player who can turn it up whenever the team depends on him. As I mentioned earlier when the Atlanta Hawks where fighting for a playin spot without Trae, Dejounte elevated his game and lead the team on his back. He averaged 25.1 points, 9.1 assists and 5.8 rebounds. There is no player that is more well fit for this leader lacking Pelicans squad. In this deal the Pelicans also recieve Isiah Stewart. A lot of people only know him for trying to kill Lebron and well I cant blame you. Nobody watches the pistons and a lot of their players have gone under the radar. Isiah Stewart is a rebounding menace. He is a true Bad Boy Piston. The pistons have an overload of centers including players like Jalen Duren and former 2nd overall pick James Wiseman. By bringing in Stewart the pelicans get a center who can stretch the floor for Zion. Out of all centers Isiah Stewart averages the 8 most threes per game draining down 2 of the, per game
Explantion 3
The Detroit Pistons are the worst team in the Nba and are in serious trouble. Earlier this season their small fanbase sent Large shockwaves to the Franchise after attending the match wearing masks requesting for the owners to sell the franchise. Changes need to be made. I had mentinoned the Pistons overloaded Front Court and their need to clear it. And it is obviously very reasonable. But knowing the fanspo community you would probably look at this trade and be like they still get a center back. Well no shit sherlock. Clint Capela is a proven veteran who could lead this squad to greatness or atleast the playin. And even if the pistons dont see it fit to keep him around they could either trade him for a few seconds or even buy him out if neccesary. Alongside this they get a 2025 Frp with Lottery Protections that would convey into a 2030 srp. The situation is terrible in Detroit and they have to take the chance.
Summary:
After trading away Dejounte the Hawks get a more depthy roster will bringing in young talent like Dyson Daniels who would work defensively alongisde Trae. It is unfortunate for New Orleans to lose Dyson but getting back Dejounte makes it completely reasonable. They also get Stewart who will fix their biggest issue and help stretch the floor for Zion. The pistons get long time veteran Clint Capela for a player logging up their frontcourt. Alongside Capela they get a 2025 Frp Via Nola with Lottery Protections which can convey into a possible 2030 srp. This deal works for each team in terms of salary and fit. This solves issues and creates possibility, a possibility to contend, a possibility to improve, a possibility to like this trade.
